Truck, Tractor & Earthmoving - Anti-Freeze Coolants

Truck coolant and antifreeze for trucks, tractors and earthmoving

Greyhound Lubricants truck coolant protects the large cooling systems on trucks, buses, tractors, generators and earthmoving equipment against boiling under load, freezing on winter mornings and the liner pitting and corrosion that shorten the life of heavy diesel engines. The OAT (organic acid technology) formulation protects aluminium, cast iron, copper and solder for extended service intervals and is supplied as a concentrate for mixing with deionised water, a ready to use 50/50 mix and a lighter summer mix, in 5, 20, 210 and 1000 litre packs that suit a workshop or a depot.

Mixing and managing truck coolant across a fleet

Mix the concentrate 50/50 with deionised water for highveld and mountain routes, and no weaker than one third concentrate anywhere, because the inhibitor dose protects the engine as much as the freeze point. Use deionised water, since tap water minerals scale up radiators and consume inhibitors. Do not top up an OAT truck coolant with a conventional green coolant without a flush; the chemistries react and drop sludge. For fleets, the practical approach is one coolant across all vehicles with a labelled drum and a mixing station at the depot, and a test strip check every service to confirm concentration and inhibitor level. Liner pitting on wet liner diesels is the most expensive coolant failure and is prevented by keeping the concentration right, not by changing brands. Each product page gives mix ratios and pack sizes.
