Truck grease for fifth wheels, chassis, bearings and pins

Greyhound Lubricants truck grease covers every grease point on a truck, trailer, bus or piece of earthmoving equipment: fifth wheel grease that stays on the plate under the trailer load, lithium multi-purpose grease for chassis points, kingpins, spring hangers and brake slack adjusters, wheel bearing grease for trailer and non-driven hubs, pins and bushes grease for the heavily loaded pivots on tippers, cranes and excavators, calcium sulfonate grease for vehicles washed down or run in wet and coastal conditions, boom grease for crane booms and slide pads, and copper compound for wheel studs and exhaust bolts. The range is packed in 400 g cartridges for grease guns, 5 and 17 kg pails and 52 and 180 kg kegs for workshop pumps and centralised systems.

Choosing a truck grease for the job

Fifth wheels take a fifth wheel grease, not a general chassis grease, because the trailer load squeezes a light grease out of the plate within a day. Wheel bearings take a bearing grease with a high dropping point; general lithium grease in a trailer hub is the usual cause of a bearing failure on the N3. Pins and bushes on tippers and cranes need a grease with solid lubricant that holds a film under shock load and slow movement. Where trucks are pressure washed or run on wet mine roads, a calcium sulfonate truck grease resists water washout far better than lithium. Keep thickener families consistent on a vehicle and do not mix polyurea greases with lithium or calcium in the same bearing.
