SAE 90 Gear Oil (High Performance GL-5)
Greyhound SAE 90 GL-5 Gear Oil is a high-performance extreme-pressure (EP) lubricant formulated from high-quality mineral base oils and advanced additive technology. It provides excellent thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and protection against wear, shock loading, and deposit formation, helping to extend both lubricant and component life under demanding operating conditions.
The oil forms a durable protective film and is suitable for use in differentials, manual gearboxes, and final drives across passenger vehicles, commercial fleets, and heavy-duty equipment, depending on specification requirements.
API Performance Levels:
- GL-4 – Moderate EP performance for manual gearboxes and synchronised transmissions where compatibility with yellow metals (such as brass/bronze components) is required.
- GL-5 – High EP performance for hypoid gears, axles, and differentials operating under heavy load and shock conditions.
Use GL-4 where specified for gearbox applications requiring yellow metal compatibility, and GL-5 for differentials and applications requiring maximum load protection.
Application: Differentials, axles, and transfer boxes in passenger, commercial, agricultural, and construction vehicles.

It provides strong load-carrying capability and reliable protection under severe operating conditions.
The formulation delivers excellent wear protection, thermal stability, and resistance to oxidation and shock loading. It is suitable for passenger vehicles, commercial fleets, agricultural machinery, and heavy-duty equipment where robust differential and final drive protection is required.
Greyhound™ G-Moto Gear Oil EP 90 GL-5 is recommended for differentials and final drives where high EP performance is required. Not suitable for applications containing yellow metal components or synchromesh gearboxes requiring API GL-4.
