Wire Rope Grease EP1

Application: Wire rope, cable and sheave lubrication and corrosion protection

Greyhound Wire Rope Grease EP1 is a purple calcium sulfonate grease blended on a high viscosity base oil so that it penetrates between the strands of steel wire rope and stays there. It lubricates the inner wires where rope fatigue begins, seals out water and grit, and leaves a tough corrosion resistant film on the outside of the rope.

The soft NLGI 1 consistency works into the rope by brush, glove, drip applicator or rope lubricator, and the calcium sulfonate thickener provides the water resistance, high dropping point and rust protection that lithium rope dressings lack. The purple colour shows at a glance which ropes have been serviced.

Check the rope manufacturer’s lubrication guidance for ropes under certification, and do not use on ropes that the manufacturer specifies to run dry through synthetic sheaves.
