Base Oils
Greyhound Lubricants supplies base oil for blending, process work and general industrial use, including bright stock grades such as BS 130 and BS 150.
Base oil is the foundation of every finished lubricant, typically making up the large majority of the blend before additives are introduced. Grades differ by viscosity, refining route and purity, and that determines what they suit. Bright stocks are heavy, high-viscosity residual base oils used where a thick, tacky film is needed, commonly in gear oils, open gear compounds, chain and cable lubricants and heavy industrial formulations. Lighter neutral grades are used for engine, hydraulic and general purpose blending.
Base oils are supplied on a per-litre basis, in drums and in bulk. If you are blending or need a specific viscosity or specification, speak to our technical team about availability and typical properties.
