Industrial Solvent

Greyhound Lubricants supplies industrial solvent products for parts washing, heavy degreasing, surface preparation and dilution work in workshops, plants and manufacturing.

Solvent cleaners work by dissolving the soil rather than lifting it with alkalinity and surfactants, which is why they cut carbon, tar, wax, adhesive and cured grease that water-based products struggle with. That performance comes with handling obligations. Most industrial solvents are flammable and produce vapour, so they need ventilated work areas, ignition sources kept away, correct gloves and eye protection, sealed storage away from direct sun, and disposal through a licensed waste route rather than a drain.

Where a water-based degreaser will do the job, it is usually the better choice on safety and cost grounds, with solvent reserved for the work that genuinely needs it. Consult the safety data sheet before use.
