Rags

Cleaning rags are the consumable no workshop runs without: wiping cloths for oil and spills, cleaning down tools and components, applying and removing solvents and general maintenance work.

Buying rags in bulk bags is far more economical than paper towel for most workshop tasks, and cotton cloth holds a great deal more oil per gram than paper does. They are supplied here in 5kg bags suited to garages, factories, maintenance teams and mobile service vehicles.

One important safety note: rags soaked in oil, solvent or particularly in linseed or drying oils can self-heat and ignite if left bundled in a heap or a closed bin. Store used rags in a closed metal container, keep them away from heat sources, and dispose of oily waste through the correct route rather than in general refuse.
