Calcium

Calcium grease is chosen where water is the main enemy. Calcium soap and calcium sulphonate thickeners resist water washout far better than most alternatives, which makes them the practical option for wet and washdown environments.

Typical uses include mine and quarry equipment working in slurry, wash bays, water pumps, marine and dockside fittings, agricultural implements and food-adjacent plant where hosing down is routine. Conventional calcium greases are limited on temperature, while calcium sulphonate complex products push both the temperature ceiling and the load-carrying capacity considerably higher and offer good inherent corrosion protection without relying heavily on additives.

Calcium sulphonate is not always compatible with lithium-thickened products, so purge bearings and lines properly when switching. Packed from 500g tubs and cartridges up to 17kg and 180kg kegs for bulk industrial use.
