Compressor Oil

Greyhound Lubricants supplies compressor oil for rotary screw, rotary vane, reciprocating piston and vacuum pump installations in workshops, mines and manufacturing plants.

Compressor oil works under conditions most lubricants never see: constant high temperature, continuous exposure to hot compressed air and, in many installations, condensed water. That makes oxidation stability, water separation and low carbon-forming tendency more important than raw viscosity. Rotary screw compressors typically run ISO 32 or 46 grades where the oil also seals and cools the air end. Reciprocating compressors usually take heavier ISO 68 to 150 grades and are more sensitive to carbon deposits on valves and discharge lines, which are a genuine fire risk if allowed to build up.

Always use the grade and change interval specified by the compressor builder, and drain condensate regularly.
