Greyhound Circulating Oil 460 210L Drum: rust-inhibited ISO VG 460 circulating oil
Greyhound Circulating Oil 460 210L Drum is a rust and oxidation inhibited mineral circulating oil in the ISO VG 460 grade, supplied as one 210 litre drum, priced about 4 percent per litre below the 20 litre pack. Greyhound developed the range for the conveyor and crusher bearings of copper crushing mills, because water, dust and scale get into the oil there every shift. As a result, the oil resists foaming, separates water quickly and protects steel against rust. In short, it keeps circulating systems clean and running for longer.
Every grade carries an ashless sulphur-phosphorus system with extreme pressure capability. Therefore one product covers both plain circulating duty (the CL class) and circulating systems that also lubricate loaded gearing (the CLP class).
Where Circulating Oil 460 210L Drum excels
ISO VG 460 sits in the heavy band of the range. It suits rolling mill backup and work-roll bearings, heavy gearbox circulating systems, and cement and mining plant circulation. Morgoil-type systems commonly run VG 320 or VG 460. Typical duties include ball, cement and strip mills, conveyor bearings in mining, plain and rolling-element bearings in ferrous and non-ferrous mills, and any circulating system where water contamination is a problem. It suits ring-oiled, bath and pressure-fed systems alike.
Key benefits
- Rust and corrosion protection: inhibitors protect the internal surfaces of the system, even when water is present.
- Demulsibility: water separates out instead of forming an emulsion, so you can drain it from the reservoir.
- Anti-foam: the oil releases entrained air quickly, which in turn protects pumps and controls.
- Oxidation resistance: long oil life with little sludge or deposit formation.
- Extreme pressure and anti-wear protection: carries loaded gears and therefore extends the life of moving parts.
- High filterability: suitable for very fine filters and oil-mist systems, because it contains no lead compounds.

Applications
Ball mills, cement mills, hot and cold strip mills and plate mills. Conveyor bearings in mining applications. Plain and rolling-element bearings in ferrous and non-ferrous mills. Large, slow-speed bearings in mixers and mills. Combined hydraulic and circulating systems where design and maintenance keep leakage low. For the other grades, see the Greyhound Circulating Oil range. For background on the CLP class, see the DIN standards body.
