Industrial Gear Oil
Greyhound Lubricants supplies extreme-pressure industrial gear oil for enclosed gearboxes, speed reducers, worm drives and heavy plant gearing in mines, mills and processing plants.
Industrial gear oil is specified by ISO viscosity grade, typically ISO VG 68 through to 680, with the grade chosen from the gear type, pitch line velocity and operating temperature. Slower, heavily loaded gearing needs a heavier grade to maintain film thickness, while faster-running units run cooler on lighter grades. Sulphur-phosphorus extreme-pressure additives protect against scuffing under shock and high contact loads. Worm gearboxes are a special case, since the sliding contact between a steel worm and bronze wheel often calls for a compounded or specially formulated oil rather than a standard EP product.
Supplied in 20L and 210L packs and bulk, with technical support on grade selection.
